Learning first. Sage Owl Academy helps people learn. Its lessons are written with AI and can contain mistakes; they are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and they do not guarantee any grade or result.
1. Agreement
By downloading, accessing or using Sage Owl Academy (the “service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. If you accept these Terms on behalf of a child, you accept them for both of you.
2. The service
Sage Owl Academy provides lessons that Sage, our AI tutor, builds from the photos, text, speech or links a learner provides: explanations, worked examples, practice, quizzes, flashcards, summaries, exam plans, spaced review, language practice and the games and rewards around them. It is for learners of every age, including children learning through a profile that a parent or guardian creates. Features and availability may vary by device, country, language and plan.
3. Accounts, families and children
- Anyone 13 or older can start as a guest; a guest’s studies stay on the device. You can later sign in with Apple, Google or Microsoft to back up your progress.
- The account belongs to an adult (someone who has reached the age of majority where they live). The account holder may add profiles for family members, including children, and is responsible for how those profiles are used and for supervising children’s use of the app.
- Children under 13 may use the app only through a profile created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. Children must not create accounts or make purchases themselves; on a child’s profile, the app asks for a grown-up check before any purchase.
- Keep your device and sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity that takes place through your account.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Sage Owl Academy is free to start, with a limited number of new topics. Sage Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that raises those limits. Prices and periods are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
Bought on the App Store (iPhone and iPad)
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you chose.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If an introductory offer or free trial is shown in the app, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.
Bought on Google Play (Android)
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel it in the Google Play app (profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions).
- Cancelling stops future renewals; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are handled under Google Play’s policies.
For every purchase
- Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your store account.
- Use Restore purchases in the app to recover an active subscription on a new device signed in to the same store account.
- If we change the price of a subscription, the store will tell you in advance and, where the law or the store requires it, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
- Promotional offers, such as “invite a friend” days of Premium, are personal, have no cash value, may be limited per person and may end at any time; they cannot be combined with abuse such as fake accounts.
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws.
5. AI-generated content
Lessons, answers, grades, plans and Sage’s voice are generated with artificial intelligence. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they can misread a photo. Check important information with your teacher, textbook or another reliable source, and do not rely on a lesson as professional advice or as a guarantee of any learning outcome. If something looks wrong or inappropriate, please report it from inside the app.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to the photos, text, voice and links you give Sage (“your content”). You grant us only the limited permission needed to process your content to provide the feature you asked for and to operate, secure and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Only submit content you have the right to use, and do not submit passwords, payment details or another person’s private information.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Sage Owl Academy. In particular, you will not:
- submit content that is illegal, sexual, hateful, violent, harassing or that exploits or endangers children in any way;
- try to make Sage produce harmful, dangerous or inappropriate content, or to get around its safety rules;
- use bots, scripts, multiple accounts or other tricks to get around usage limits, subscriptions or promotions;
- access accounts, systems or data without authorisation, interfere with the service, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows;
- copy, resell or redistribute the service or its content, or use it to build a competing product;
- use the service in a way that breaks the law or another person’s rights.
We may limit, suspend or end access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, or when it is needed to protect learners, other people or the service. Our Child Safety Standards explain our zero-tolerance approach to child sexual abuse and exploitation.
8. Reporting content
Anyone can report a lesson or an answer from inside the app, or by writing to info@lexkurion.com. We review reports and use them to make Sage safer. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the competent authorities.
9. Intellectual property
The service, its software, design, characters (including Sage), illustrations, text and branding belong to Sage Owl Academy or its licensors and are protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own and your family’s learning. Lessons generated for you are yours to use for your learning.
10. Changes and availability
We keep improving the app, so we may add, change or remove features. We aim for a reliable service but cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. If we stop offering a paid feature you have paid for, we will tell you and, where the law requires it, offer a fair remedy. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from inside the app (how to delete your account). We may end or suspend access as described in section 7. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 6, 9, 12 and 14) continue to apply.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of AI-generated content. To the maximum extent the law allows, Sage Owl Academy and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from the use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
13. App store terms
If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, these Terms are between you and LexKurion Technology, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the app (including product-liability, legal-compliance or intellectual-property claims). If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of restricted parties. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to your purchase.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, unless the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live gives you more protection or requires otherwise. Disputes will be handled by the courts that have jurisdiction under that law.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will change the date at the top and, if a change is significant, tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply.
